ABOUT

I am an educator, a mother, a friend, and a lifelong advocate for children.  My journey as an educator began at the tender of age of ten years old where I operated a successful nonprofit after school tutoring program for boys and girls in my community.  No one taught me how or why to established the tutoring program, but I saw that there was a need. My friends were struggling with simple arithmetic, word meaning, and spelling simple words.  So I took the initiative upon myself to fulfill that need.  Today, I am still advocating for quality and equitable meaningful education for all children across the globe.

My background in education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, a Master of Arts degree in Accountancy with Finance Concentration, a Master of Arts degree in Special Education with Literacy Concentration, and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership with Concentration in Curriculum Development and Supervision.  In addition, I hold a number of NJ Standard Teaching Certifications in Chemistry, Biology, Middle School Science, Elementary Education K-6, Supplemental Instruction in Reading and Math, and Teacher of Student with Disabilities.  Furthermore, I hold a number of NJ standard endorsements for Principal, School Business Administrator, Supervision, Learning Disability Teacher Consultant, and Reading Specialist.

As an outsider looking in, one might misconstrued my academic successes as unchallenging because I have so many accomplishments, but the truth of the matter, I had to overcome many struggles in my academic and personal life ranging from blatant discrimination from college professors, health issues and disability, family, disappointments, and  grief.  Most people probably would have given up already, but I drew strength and inspiration from my environment and persevere through the obstacles.

When I worked at a public school in Plainfield, NJ, I experienced tumultuous hardship and bullying from the principals and I thought of giving up on education.  During my employment at the school in Plainfield, NJ, I was only a biology teacher,  but I met a disabled man who was a math teacher, and the man suffered a stroke that left one side of his body permanently paralyzed, and that man never missed a day from work.  Sometimes you may think that the world is upon your shoulders, but others have it much worse off than you.  Furthermore, I have a family member who was born with sickle anemia, and if you know anything about this disease, then you know how much people with this disease suffer, especially during a sickle crisis. This remarkable young woman who has been in and out of hospitals from the time of her birth until now has persevered  through it all and now she is attending a four college and is an entrepreneur.  Why am I revealing this information to you? It is because I want to empower you today to fight with all your might for what you want to accomplish in your life and don't be afraid to draw wisdom from the people that placed in your life, and utilized your surroundings wisely, and just know that help is always there, you just need to ask.  This is the very reason that sparked my motivation in establishing this business because I want to help bridge that gap in education and make it possible for every child to succeed in school and feel good about themselves.  I have a great team and we are all on the same page.
